Rapper Jim Jones Sued By Topless Video Vixens

Nudity is all fun and games until someone gets sued.

Rapper Jim Jones is getting sued for a topless situation during the filming of his promo “Summer Time” video shoot.

Warning to rappers, promoters, managers and budding filmmakers: Get those model release forms signed. At the very least hang one of those “You are bring filmed signs.”

From the NY Daily News:
Two topless Texans are suing rapper Jim Jones after their sexy romp was showcased on a promotional video for his song “Summer Time.”

Sharie Johnson and Samantha Stotts contend the “Pop Champagne” star’s crew filmed them as they frolicked in the waves on South Beach – then used the footage to promote his new song.

Catch Wreck “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” Got the Hook

As a DJ and music consultant, I get a lot of acts sending me tracks to check out. And to be honest, a lot of it’s crap. There are some good beats or rhymes, but rarely are the songs composed well with all of the elements necessary to go to the next level.

I’ve worked with a handful of platinum-selling rock acts and when I listen to new music, I’m always looking for the hook. What is going to make people sing along or hold a glass of Patron in the air when they’re dancing at the club. In the old days, we called those anthems.

Catch Wreck recently reached out via Twitter to check out a track called “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes.” I clicked on the link not expecting much and am happy to report, they got the hook, the beat and the lyrics. The chorus is as catchy as anything out there right now like Cali Swag District’s “Teach Me How to Dougie.” They even thought ahead and pulled the track in at a radio-friendly 4:25.

The only feedback I have is that for the remix, Catch Wreck might want to bring in a female voice, maybe 2:50 in following the classic formula, but it’s tight as is. The group told me they already have a big talent lined up for the remix.

With the radio situation the way it is these days, I’m not expecting to hear “Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes” in heavy rotation anytime soon, but, I do expect this to be on the dancefloors by the time all the snow melts in New York City. - Fletch

Uncle Luke Runs For Mayor of Miami

Luther Campbell wants to be Miami-dade County’s new mayor.

A couple weeks ago, the legendary 2 Live Crew leader discussed a possibility of running for mayor in Miami stating that “If Carlos Alvarez gets recalled, I will seriously think about running for Miami-Dade County mayor.” However, with the recent recall for Mayor Alvarez being set for March 15, Luke has officially placed his hat in the race.

“I’ve thought about running for public office before, but someone would always end up talking me out of it, ” wrote the rapper of 2 Live Crew fame, in a recent column to the Miami New Times. “I get in my car, ride around Liberty City, and everything looks the same as when I was in the neighborhood growing up…I see the same crimes in the same areas…”
